Rockville Center is not where I thought I'd find a place with this kind of vibe. Rozu feels like it belongs in the LES or maybe in Vegas. The decor here is modern, fun and set the mood for a fun night. The drinks here are really good - the Uma and Rozu were both excellent cocktails. Appetizers here are also incredibly well done. Crispy rice was excellent and the edamame was the perfect way to start a meal - roasted with a perfectly balanced sauce of hot, sour and tangy. Shockingly, the sushi was probably the weakest part of our meal. It wasn't bad but it was quite frankly average. Fish quality was hit and miss and the rice was a tad hard. They were dealing with a large private party when we went so maybe that was the reason. Service here is fantastic. From the front of the house to the server, everyone was incredibly friendly and attentive. Prices are pretty reasonable for the amount of food you get. Not sure I'd come back for the sushi but I'd come back for the drinks and appetizers in a heartbeat. Thumbs up.

If you're looking for a fun and swanky sushi spot, this is it. There are big fake trees throughout that are absolutely gorgeous, and the lighting is on point. Really really cool atmosphere and decor. The wagyu sliders were absolutely incredible. They were so flavorful and perfectly cooked, and by far the best thing we had here. The sushi was really fresh and delicious, but it just wasn't super flavorful. The drinks were really creative and great too! Things are definitely on the pricier side though, so be prepared to spend a bit here. The staff was really friendly and attentive, and really made the experience fantastic. There's also a speakeasy side, where you walk into what seems like a hair salon. But right behind the vanity mirror is a secret sliding door into the bar. It was such a nice surprise moment, and the bar behind is as swanky as the rest of the restaurant. Overall a really solid place in the area!

So nice to have a high quality sushi restaurant on the South Shore. The ambiance makes you feel like you stepped into a NYC without the NYC prices and portions - you definitely won't leave hungry! Drinks were delicious, reasonably priced, and didn't skimp on the tequila. The service was friendly and quick! So happy to have this hidden gem right in my backyard. (Sorry we ate too fast to take any good pictures)

Wanted to try this new sushi spot in Rockville Centre. Came around 9pm on a Sat night and there was no wait. First off the decoration is very nice - def love the aesthetic although it's a bit dimly lit in there. Bf and I got Kiss and Tell roll, Pikkara Roll, and the Rozu nigiri platter. Fish tasted fresh and we enjoyed everything. The rice in the nigiri did fall off a bit when picking it up so as I was taking a bite I wouldn't get the full bite. I think the price isn't bad for 15 piece nigiri ($80) relative to NYC omakase. Service def isn't like NYC omakase places we've been to but that's not the point as I think Rozu is more of a sushi place that offers omakase rather than a place known for omakase. It's interesting they put sprouts on top of the rolls which I think makes it more American fusion. It tasted a little #health haha. I imagine it'd be a cute date spot. They have a bar area but we didn't try any of the drinks. Glad we got to finally try this new spot.
